Happiest sign holder’s recovery from crash is slow, sure

The beloved sign holder for the Beaverton-Hillsdale Round Table Pizza is on the mend – slowly but surely.
“I’m sore, but I want to go home, get back to work, pay my own way and be around the boys again,” said Lloyd Lalicker, who everyone in the neighborhood knows as Mick.
The 75-year-old Korean War veteran is recovering from a fractured right femur, fractured left wrist, fractured right hip and six surgeries he underwent after being struck Dec. 11 by a Hyundai Elantra while crossing north on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway near the Southwest 101st Avenue intersection.
On Feb. 10, Mick also had his gall bladder removed.
“I thought all the soreness was over with,” he said Tuesday afternoon as he held court in his new room at Avamere Rehabilitation of Hillsboro, where he anxiously awaits getting the all clear to go home in March. “I’ve never been one to sit on my butt. View the full article here.
